Banded Portland Pitcher Tankard State Series EAPG c. 1901 This beautiful water pitcher was originally manufactured in 1901 as Virginia by Portland Glass Company, part of US Glass, and is considered to be one of the States Series. Commonly called Banded Portland, a very descriptive title, this lovely piece of Early American Pattern Glass stands 7 inches tall. This large half gallon tankard is in very good condition with very minor scuffing on some of the edges when the panels protrude near the bottom, one small chip in the same place and one or two use marks on the inside. None of these effect the beauty or usefulness of this piece. The glass is gorgeous, crystal clear and reflective with no scoring or cloudiness and of course no other nicks, chips, or cracks. I also have a Banded Portland celery vase in another listing. |
