This charming porcelain egg coddler by Royal Worcester is not only a lovely collectable but is also very functional! Egg coddlers are used to make, of all things, coddled eggs ;) which are similar to poached eggs, but without the mess. An egg is broken into the buttered cup, seasoned and sealed up with the lid. The whole piece is dunked into boiling water for a few minutes then lifted out using the metal ring on top of the jar. Unscrew the top and Voila! Breakfast is served in a darling egg cup. Decorated with berries on one side and a peach or apricot on the other, this piece stands 2 ½” tall not including the ring on the top and is in excellent, gently used condition.
