Here we have the tailor himself from Beatrix Potter's Tailor of Gloucester. He is seated on a spool of thread with his reading glasses perched upon his nose and the newspaper grasped in his little paws. Finely crafted with wonderful details this piece stands 2 ½” tall and about 3/4” wide and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The bottom is marked FW & Co, 1998, Tailor of Gloucester, Lmt Ed, 5000, MCF. The latch does not close tightly so the box will swing open if the piece is picked up by the mouse, but it sits perfectly when closed.
