MZ Austria Porcelain Syrup Pitcher Roses Daisies This charming antique syrup pot stands 4 1/2" tall from the bottom of its scalloped foot to the top of its ruffled and somewhat tipsy finial. The body is a squash shape with gold detailing on the ornate handle, scalloped rim and the spouts heart shaped opening. There is a delicate mist of pink and pale yellow beneath the rim - quite lovely! Trailing pink roses with a scattering of white daisies, and gold accents on the embossed pattern that runs under the flowers complete this lovely piece. Both the body and the lid have normal wear to the gilding, in addition, the ruffle on the finial has a small chip which is hard to see due to the shape of the ruffle. No other chips or cracks, and no crazing. This piece is marked on the bottom with M.Z., double Phoenix symbol, Austria, dating it between 1884 and 1909. |
