This beautiful amber creamer in the Rose in Snow pattern was produced between 1884 and 1886 and sold by Bryce Bros.
According to one of the EAPG experts I consulted this pattern appears as a plate in a Bryce Bros Catalog from 1891 as No. 125. Bryce, however, rarely if ever used numbers, they normally used names for patterns. One could therefore assume that this is one of several patterns that Bryce Bros bought as old stock from a defunct glass house, most likely Jones, Cavitt.
The creamer in this pattern has not been reproduced, but in any case the crisp detail, light amber color and fine quality of the glass itself testifies to the age and authenticity of this lovely piece. Standing 5” tall this creamer is in excellent condition with the only small flaw being a slightly rough spot on the outside edge of the spout. |
